Areas of Experience

Editing

Video editing is quite possibly my favorite part of the production process. I love putting the puzzle pieces together in limitless combinations of video, music, narration, and more, to tell a unique story. With ample experience in the educational field, I’ve learned to balance information with engaging visuals to captivate an audience. From rough cuts to finished edits, my attention to detail makes my projects shine. Well versed in both Final Cut Pro, and Adobe Premiere Pro, I’m ready to fit right in with your production team.

Writing

Every great production starts with a great script. Technical accuracy coupled with simple explanations are key elements to educating an audience. From research to a polished script, I can help tell your story.

2D Animation

Sometimes you just can’t capture what you want to show with a camera. That’s when animations come in. Graphics animated in Adobe After Effects can bring life to concepts that are otherwise difficult to explain.

Producing

It’s easy to get lost in the creative details of a program, which is why producing requires excellent management skills. Over the years I’ve learned to coordinate schedules to keep the project on track, and make sure team members have the assets they need, all while guiding the project toward the finished goal.

Programs

  • Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, Audition, Media Encoder

  • Final Cut Pro, Soundtrack Pro, DVD Studio Pro

  • Movie Captioner

  • Microsoft Excel, Word

Directing

Directing is all about working with people. It offers unique challenges when it comes to balancing the needs of the production team and the actors involved. An abundance of planning, and patience are key, but the ability to adapt while on set is crucial. Whether I’m working with adults or children, we’re on set, in a voice over booth, in person, or videoconferencing, I strive to make my actors comfortable so that they can give their best performance.

chroma keying

Successful chroma keying is an art. It all depends on two key elements: proper studio setup, and patience for trial and error during post production. Without proper lighting and green screen setup, it’s impossible to pull a good key in post production. As chroma keying technology has changed, I’ve learned the tricks to getting a clean key in Final Cut Pro, After Effect, and Premiere.
